The recommended entry level requirements for the\u00a0IYT International Flotilla Skipper\u00a0course, are the IYT International Crew Course and the IYT Marine Communications VHF\/SRC radio operator\u2019s course.<\/p>\n<p>Certificate Limitations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Command of a vessel up to a maximum length of 78 ft \/24 m as part of a flotilla<\/li>\n<li>In coastal waters up to 20 miles offshore<\/li>\n<li>In daylight hours and in fair conditions with moderate wind and sea conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a id=\"course3\"><\/a>Estonian\u00a0 ICC\u00a0 for\u00a0 Operators\u00a0 of\u00a0 Pleasure\u00a0 Craft<\/h2>\n<p>Estonian\u00a0 national\u00a0 skipper\u2019s\u00a0 certificate,\u00a0 issued\u00a0 by\u00a0 Estonian\u00a0 government\u00a0 and \u00a0valid\u00a0 in\u00a0 most\u00a0 European\u00a0 countries\u00a0 for\u00a0 recreational\u00a0 use.\u00a0 Does\u00a0 not\u00a0 have\u00a0 entry\u00a0 requirements,\u00a0 suitable\u00a0 for\u00a0 beginners,\u00a0 from\u00a0 16\u00a0 years\u00a0 old.\u00a0 Course\u00a0 include\u00a0 theory\u00a0 and\u00a0 practical\u00a0 subjects,\u00a0 minimum\u00a0 duration\u00a0 66\u00a0 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Allows\u00a0 to\u00a0 operate\u00a0 by\u00a0 sailing\u00a0 and\u00a0 motor\u00a0 yachts\u00a0 up\u00a0 to\u00a0 a\u00a0 maximum\u00a0 length\u00a0 of 78 ft \/24 m,\u00a0 including\u00a0 European\u00a0 inland\u00a0 waters\u00a0 and\u00a0 high\u00a0 seas,\u00a0 without\u00a0 any\u00a0 additional\u00a0 limitations.<\/p>\n<p>Some\u00a0 of\u00a0 European\u00a0 countries\u00a0 and\u00a0 some\u00a0 of\u00a0 chartering\u00a0 companies\u00a0 can\u00a0 limit\u00a0 the\u00a0 validity\u00a0 of\u00a0 this certificate\u00a0 on\u00a0 their\u00a0 territory\u00a0 and\u00a0 for\u00a0 chartering.\u00a0 However,\u00a0 this\u00a0 certificate\u00a0 is\u00a0 one\u00a0 of\u00a0 most\u00a0 popular\u00a0 in\u00a0 Estonia,\u00a0 because\u00a0 it\u00a0 allows\u00a0 to\u00a0 start\u00a0 sailing\u00a0 and\u00a0 to\u00a0 collect\u00a0 required\u00a0 experience\u00a0 for\u00a0 any\u00a0 next\u00a0 IYT\u00a0 qualification.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"course4\"><\/a>IYT\u00a0 International\u00a0 Certificate\u00a0 Of\u00a0\u00a0 Competency\u00a0 Course<\/h2>\n<p>The IYT\u00a0 ICC is a certificate confirming that an individual is competent to the level required to meet the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Inland Water Committee (UNECE IWC) Resolution 40.<\/p>\n<p>The ICC issued by IYT has been approved by\u00a0the British\u00a0 Maritime &amp; Coastguard Agency (MCA) and by Transport Canada\u00a0so that holders of the ICC (Canadian Edition)<\/p>\n<p>Candidates who successfully complete the modules required to obtain the International Bareboat Skipper may be automatically awarded the ICC.<\/p>\n<p>IYT can issue ICCs to any other country\u2019s citizens that are not listed below:<\/p>\n<p><em>Austria, Belarus<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>Belgium<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>Ireland<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>Italy, Latvia*<\/em><em>,\u00a0 <\/em><em>Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>Poland<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>Romania<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>Serbia<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>Slovakia<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>South Africa<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>Switzerland<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>Ukraine<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>United Kingdom**<\/em><\/p>\n<p>*The government of Latvia has given written permission for IYT to issue ICCs to their own nationals and residents<\/p>\n<p>** IYT has been authorized to issue ICC\u2019s to United Kingdom Nationals for the past 16 years which are issued on behalf of the British Maritime &amp; Coastguard Agency (MCA).<\/p>\n<p>Reference: UNECE Resolution 40 document<\/p>\n<p>The only exception for IYT to issue ICCs to citizens of these countries, is if the applicant can provide proof of residency\u00a0 in a country not on this list. Proof of residency (examples): utility bill (electric or gas),<\/p>\n<p>property tax bill, \u00a0telephone bill, \u2028insurance bill.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"course5\"><\/a>IYT\u00a0 International \u00a0Bareboat \u00a0Skipper \u00a0Training<\/h2>\n<p>The International Bareboat Skipper course is a five day course. It is not for beginners.<\/p>\n<p>Certificate Limitations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Command of a vessel up to a maximum length of 78 ft \/24 m<\/li>\n<li>In coastal waters up to 20 miles offshore<\/li>\n<li>In daylight hours and in fair conditions with moderate wind and sea conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Recommended entry requirements:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>VHF maritime radio operators certificate<\/li>\n<li>To have logged over 200 nautical miles and 10 days at sea<\/li>\n<li>Age 18 years and\u00a0 older<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><a id=\"course6\"><\/a>IYT\u00a0 Small\u00a0 Powerboat&amp;RIB\u00a0 Master\u00a0 Training \u2013 MCA\u00a0 Approved<\/h2>\n<p>Certificate limitations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Covers vessels up to 15m<\/li>\n<li>Operation in coastal regions \u2013 in sight of land<\/li>\n<li>Driven by outboard or inboard motors<\/li>\n<li>In fair weather<\/li>\n<li>No horsepower limitations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a id=\"course7\"><\/a>IYT\u00a0 Powerboat \u00a0Skipper \u00a0Training<\/h2>\n<p>Designed for those to wish to operate a power pleasure boat with accommodation up to 24 m, in sight of land in fair weather. Tailored for those who are considering chartering a powerboat or for those who are purchasing a vessel. \u00a0Five-day course, which includes both theory and practical components.<\/p>\n<p>Certificate Limitations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Command of a vessel up to a maximum length of 78 ft \/24 m<\/li>\n<li>In coastal waters up to 20 miles offshore<\/li>\n<li>In daylight hours and in fair conditions with moderate wind and sea conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a id=\"course8\"><\/a>IYT\u00a0 VHF\u00a0 Maritime\u00a0 Radio\u00a0 Training<\/h2>\n<p>The IYT Marine Communications course (Very High Frequency \u2013 Short Range Certificate) is recognised by the Republic of the Marshall Islands. It is designed to ensure a thorough understanding of maritime radio communication at sea. It is intended for all marine environments and follows International standards.<\/p>\n<p>The course provides VHF Radio and SRC training for the entire spectrum of VHF radio communications for recreational and professional boating. Students will learn how on board radios and handheld radios, EPIRBs, SARTs, AIS and DSC-enabled radios, are used effectively in marine communications.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"course9\"><\/a>ROC\u00a0 GMDSS\u00a0 Training<\/h2>\n<p>The\u00a0 highest\u00a0 level\u00a0 of\u00a0 Maritime\u00a0 radio\u00a0 communication\u00a0 for\u00a0 recreational\u00a0 yachtsman\u00a0 and\u00a0 woman.<\/p>\n<p>5\u00a0 days\u00a0 course\u00a0 with\u00a0 theory\u00a0 and\u00a0 practical\u00a0 training\u00a0 designed\u00a0 for\u00a0 those,\u00a0 who\u00a0 would\u00a0 like\u00a0 to\u00a0 obtain\u00a0 a\u00a0 maximum\u00a0 knowledge\u00a0 in\u00a0 Global\u00a0 Maritime\u00a0 Distress\u00a0 and\u00a0 Safety\u00a0 System.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"course10\"><\/a>IYT\u00a0 Yachtmaster \u00a0Coastal \u00a0Training<\/h2>\n<p>The IYT Worldwide Yachtmaster Coastal certificate is a recreational certificate of competency for command of sailing and\/or power vessels. It is a comprehensive live aboard course consisting of six days for sail or five days for power, which includes the practical on water examination.<\/p>\n<p>It has come to our attention that it has not been made perfectly clear to all IYT Worldwide yachtmaster candidates that THIS\u00a0 CERTIFICATION IS FOR RECREATIONAL USE ONLY.<\/p>\n<p>Certificate Limitations<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Command of a vessel up to a maximum length of 78 ft \/24 m<\/li>\n<li>In coastal waters up to 60 miles offshore<\/li>\n<li>In moderate wind and sea conditions<\/li>\n<li>Not for commercial use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Minimum entry requirements to apply for the IYT Yachtmaster Coastal course:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>30 days and 800 miles at sea including 2 days as watch leader\/skipper<\/li>\n<li>12 hours underway on watch at night<\/li>\n<li>Minimum sea time must have been met prior to the final examination<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><a id=\"course11\"><\/a>IYT\u00a0 Yachtmaster \u00a0Offshore \u00a0Training<\/h2>\n<p>The IYT Worldwide Yachtmaster Offshore certificate is a recreational certificate of competency to command sailing and\/or power vessels. It is a comprehensive theory and live aboard course consisting of five days classroom theory and a practical component of six days for sail or five days for power including the practical on the water examination.<\/p>\n<p>The courses are designed to provide the highest standard of maritime education for the recreational yachtsman and woman and for those who are serious about obtaining the best nautical qualifications available. They are ideal for those who greatly want to expand their knowledge and experience and increase their confidence in commanding a yacht. For those who are taking the courses, completion of the five-day STCW Basic Safety training courses is not required but highly recommended. The five-day STCW course covers Firefighting, Sea Survival, First Aid and Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>It has come to our attention that it has not been made perfectly clear to all IYT Worldwide yachtmaster candidates that THIS\u00a0 CERTIFICATION IS FOR RECREATIONAL USE ONLY.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to understand that an IYT certificate is a qualification that can be used across the globe. Therefore, unlike other training organizations, IYT insists on an understanding of IALA Regulations in Areas A &amp; B, weather systems in the North &amp; Southern hemispheres, tidal calculations for the Mediterranean and North America and the effects of tropical revolving storms.<\/p>\n<p>Yachtmaster courses are not for beginners. This six-day comprehensive high-level shore based course includes assessment papers and written examinations. Candidates are advised that a considerable amount of private study and varied cruising experience is required in addition to the formal instruction provided.<\/p>\n<p>Certificate Limitations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Command of a vessel up to 24 meters in length<\/li>\n<li>up to 150 miles offshore<\/li>\n<li>not for commercial use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Minimum entry requirements to apply for the IYT Yachtmaster Offshore course:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>50 days on board a yacht at sea as an active crew member. A day is defined as a period of 24 consecutive hours. Parts of a day may be included in this total, but a day is not invalidated by a candidate leaving the yacht for a few hours during a cruise. The term \u201cat sea\u201d is defined as being on a vessel outside of any harbor \u2013 natural or artificial \u2013 in which a cruising yacht could secure or anchor for a prolonged period of time.<\/li>\n<li>Have logged 3,000 miles in a yacht while cruising at sea (power or sail). This mileage must be logged on genuine cruises or passages but not short day trips. At least 2,000 miles must have been completed on coastal voyages and not ocean crossings. It is important that the candidate has considerable time of actual vessel handling.<\/li>\n<li>Thirty hours on watch at night underway as an active member of a yacht\u2019s crew. For at least six hours of this night time experience, the candidate must have been acting as the vessel\u2019s captain\/watchleader. \u201cNight,\u201d in this context, is defined as the time between sunset and sunrise.<\/li>\n<li>A current medical examination and a color blindness eyesight examination, which allows the participant to safely perform the relevant duties on a yacht, including being able to see and distinguish lights and signals of other vessels and navigational marks in typical weather conditions without risk to him\/herself, other crewmembers or the safe operation of the vessel.<\/li>\n<li>A six-hour VHF Radio Operators course covering the general rules and procedures for the safe operation of a VHF marine radio. If you do not have a valid VHF certificate this course may be conducted on board the yacht or in the classroom prior to joining the practical course.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum sea time must have been met prior to the final examination.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><a id=\"course12\"><\/a>IYT\u00a0 Yachtmaster \u00a0Ocean \u00a0Qualifications<\/h2>\n<p>This certificate is a qualification that indicates that the holder has sufficient knowledge of celestial navigation to navigate a 24-metre vessel globally using a sextant and to plan, undertake and manage an ocean passage together with a comprehensive understanding of the factors involved with regards to routing and meteorology.<\/p>\n<p>The IYT Yachtmaster Ocean certificate is a qualification that indicates that the holder has sufficient knowledge of celestial navigation to navigate globally using a sextant and to plan, undertake and manage an ocean passage together with a comprehensive understanding of the factors involved with regards to routing and meteorology.<\/p>\n<p>Certificate Limitations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Command of a vessel up to 24 meters in length<\/li>\n<li>all oceans \/ anywhere in the world<\/li>\n<li>not for commercial use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The entry level requirements:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To gain the IYT Yachtmaster Ocean certificate, candidates must first hold the IYT Yachtmaster Offshore certificate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><a id=\"course13\"><\/a>IYT\u00a0 Weather\u00a0 Master\u00a0 Course<\/h2>\n<p>A stand alone course for those who are seeking a comprehensive understanding of the factors involved in world meteorology and weather routing for long distance or ocean passages.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"course14\"><\/a>IYT\u00a0 Navigation\u00a0 Master\u00a0 Training<\/h2>\n<p>A stand alone course designed to enable the offshore mariner to safely navigate extended passages using traditional methods.
